Recent Pack Activities
The Cub Scouts of Pack 412 recently participated
in these fun activities.
Webelos Bridge and Raingutter Regatta
2008
In
October the Pack had it's annual Raingutter Regatta.
This is a favorite among the Cub Scouts and this year
was no different. We had several unusual designs
boat designs and some spirited competition. We
also said goodbye and good luck to several of our 2nd
year Webelos who bridged over to Boy Scouts.
Scoutmaster Auch and several Boy Scouts from Troop 412
led the ceremony that "bridged" the Cub Scouts over to
Boy Scouts.

Webelos Camp with Troop 412
Several
Webelos from the Pack 412 joined Troop 412 at their
September campout at Camp Cedars. Some of them will be
bridging over into the Troop in November. Scouts and
Webelos had a chance to do some fishing, hiking and
participate in Scout Olympics at the campout.

Blue and Gold 2008
The Blue and Gold Banquet is a birthday dinner for
the Cub Scouting program, held during February, the
anniversary month of the Boy Scouts of America, which
was organized in February 1910.
It's also a time to celebrate the advancements and
accomplishments of the Cub Scouts and to share a few
laughs and stories with parents and Cub Scouts.
Our theme this year was "Cowboys" and we had a special
demonstration of horses and gear from Mindy Smith of
Splatter Paint Farms.
I saw a lot of parents take photos this year so we may
have a few more pictures added to the gallery later.
There are photos of this year's Blue and
Gold available for downloading in the
photo gallery

June 2008 Pack Campout
Pack 412 enjoyed a wonderful early summer campout in
June 2008 at Indian Cave State Park. All Cub
Scouts and their families were invited to a weekend of
fun in the park. The Pack visited the
reconstructed mid-19th century river settlement of St.
Deroin. In the
village the Cub Scouts saw how early settlers made
old-time crafts such as lye soap, broom sticks, and
candlesticks. There was a working blacksmith shop
with a roaring forge.
Cubmaster Wurtele treated the Pack to two delicious
Dutch oven treats on Saturday night. On Sunday
morning the Pack enjoyed a hearty breakfast of home made
Dutch oven donuts, monkey bread and Hungry Man breakfast
casserole. Webelos Den Leader Deardoff showed the
scouts how to make omelets in a bag.
